The second edition of the National Conference on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) 2025 concluded at the St. Joseph Training Centre in Lonavala, following three days of vibrant dialogue, collaboration, and innovation. Organized by Auxilium Skills Academy, the June 24–26 event brought together over 50 experts, educators, youth leaders, and grassroots activists from across the country to reimagine WASH as a Right, Responsibility, and Resilience Strategy.

In a vibrant fusion of sport, tradition, and community spirit, the hamlet of Rajahatta Khasmahal in the Darjeeling hills is preparing to host the first-ever Doko Trail Run on Sunday, November 2, 2025. The pioneering event, organized by the Rajahatta Explore Group, is attracting runners from across India and South Asia.

Mr. Sujoy Majumdar, Head of the UNICEF Rural WASH Project and former Director of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (Swachh Bharat Mission), New Delhi, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Sonia Majumdar, visited Radio Salesian 90.8 FM on June 9. Radio Salesian Director Fr. C.M. Paul, Programme Director RJ Sameer Chettri, and the RJ team welcomed them with traditional Gorkha topis and khadas.

The DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring) Project, by BREADS (Bangalore Rural Educational and Development Society), the development office of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Bangalore Province, released its impact study report at the Press Club, Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday, 17 May. The event celebrated the impact DREAM has made so far. It reaffirmed civil society, government departments, and development organizations' collective commitment to building a drug-free future for Kerala's youth.

On December 17, the Catholic Church and the Salesian Congregation marked a historic moment as Father Wangbo George Wangsu, the first Salesian priest from Arunachal Pradesh, was ordained at St. Joseph Parish Mintong, by Rev. Bishop George Palliparambil, SDB, DD, the Bishop of Miao Diocese. Father Wangbo George Wangsu, belonging to the Wancho Tribe, is a testimony to the enduring missionary efforts in the region. Father Wangsu was ordained in the presence of Auxiliary Bishop Denis Panipitchai SDB and a host of Salesians, clergy, religious sisters, and faithful from across the region. Father George Wangsu is the eldest of seven siblings of Mr. Banwang and Mrs Banchoi Wangsu.

"Dream Your Dream" is a musical tribute to Don Bosco's transformative dream, which is celebrating its 200th anniversary, newly released by Salesian Cleric Martin Joshua Savio, a student of Visual Communication, belonging to the Salesian Province of Bangalore. The musical piece draws inspiration from a unique moment in Don Bosco's life —a profound dream he experienced at the age of nine. In this vision, the Blessed Virgin Mary instructed him to transform "wolves into lambs" through the power of love, a spiritual encounter that would shape his life's mission.

Youngsters across South Asia came together at the VOICES event, a platform that amplifies their voices on pressing social and personal issues. Throughout the event, the participants shared personal stories and insights, shedding light on the challenges of migration, unemployment, digital addiction and substance addiction affecting the youth.

As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Don Bosco School, Irinjalakuda, Kerala, a 5K RUN (5 kilometres running race) was organized on April 1, 2023, with the tagline, ‘Run against drug abuse, run to stop violence against women.’ Dr R. Bindu, Minister for Higher Education, Kerala, flagged off the 5K RUN at Don Bosco school premises, preceded by a warming-up session with a Zumba dance.

Salesian College Siliguri Women`s Cell celebrated International Women`s Day on March 8, honouring one of the women centenarians of Siliguri, Srimati Indira Maya Chhetri.

In a post-Covid outreach programme to connect with the local community, Radio Salesian journalists reached one of the far-flung tea gardens in Mirik Sub-Division, Murmah Tea Estate. Radio Salesian RJ team Wang, Garima, Bandana and Pratap with Senior RJs Moses, Rejina and Programme Co-ordinator RJ Samir visited Murmah Tea Estate on March 5, 2022.

A rural mission village in Darjeeling Hills hosted a two-hour open-air concert in memory of mission founder Father Luigi Jellici featuring orchestra pieces and cultural dances on November 28, 2021. Dhajea Busty mission, which hosted the event, was started in the 1990s by Father Jellici, the founder of Don Bosco Mirik mission in 1995.

Trinity Saioo of Jaintia Hills Meghalaya was conferred India`s fourth-highest civilian honour, Padma Shri, by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, at a glittering function in New Delhi on November 9, 2021. The award comes her way for promoting the best variety of the Indian spice - the `Lakadong Chyrmit` turmeric.

The St. Joseph`s Socio-Cultural Organization (SSCO) at Laitkor Parish unveiled the bust of late Father Dr Sylvanus Sngi Lyngdoh, SDB, on the parish premises on November 6. Fr Sngi, a renowned Khasi priest, breathed his last on May 28, 2016. A known exorcist, missionary, author, and political and social thinker, Fr Sngi was born on January 3, 1921, in the Ri Bhoi district.

A group of 20 residential student Brothers of Salesian College Sonada had a week-long work camp at Salesian College Siliguri campus. They cleared a jungle on the Siliguri campus.
