A Mega Job Fair at Don Bosco College, Kohima, on Saturday offered more than 1,000 job vacancies and aimed to boost employment for young people in Nagaland and the Northeast. The day-long event united job seekers, recruiters, government officials, educational institutions, and industry representatives to bridge the gap between talent and employment.

The seventh edition of NE-VENT, an entrepreneurship incubation programme for aspiring women entrepreneurs in Northeast India, was inaugurated by The Hub Jorhat at Bosco Institute, marking the beginning of a six-month incubation journey for 26 emerging entrepreneurs.

Kadal Conclave 2026, organised by the Fishermen Community Development Programme (FCDP), was held on January 7 at Thirumullavaram in Kollam, Kerala, bringing together policymakers, Church leaders, administrators, experts, students, and youth to deliberate on the holistic development of fishing communities and the pressing challenges facing the marine and fisheries sector.

Now streaming on YouTube, the sequel journeys deeper into the struggles and faith of Salesian Family Missionaries in Sudan and South Sudan, revealing how divine grace sustains them amid war, famine, and loss. Produced by BOSCOM, Missionary Animation, and Salesian Family South Asia under the SPCSA, the video is a powerful testimony of resilience, trust, and God’s loving presence in suffering.

A grassroots movement to foster women’s skills, sustainability, and self-reliance is taking root in Trivandrum. Fifty women have embarked on a transformative journey toward economic independence and sustainable nutrition through “Nanma,” a mushroom cultivation training programme launched by Don Bosco Veedu and the Salesian Cooperators, with support from Ashirvadam, Bangalore.

The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) of the Province of St. Joseph, Hyderabad, ignited a spirit of responsibility and environmental consciousness among 1,600 young participants during the Youth Share Fest 2025, held at St. Joseph’s College for Women, Kurnool, from August 7 to 9.

A student delegate from Don Bosco School Park Circus, Kolkata, who attended COP29 held in Baku, Azerbaijan, was declared a Climate Ambassador by the United Nations Agency for Development and Peace (UNADAP).

On October 25, 2024, a one-day orientation on the Young at Risk (YaR) and Migrant Ministry took place at the Provincial House in Dimapur, Nagaland, aimed at revitalizing these critical ministries. Resource persons Father Francis Bosco and Father Joe Prabhu from the Don Bosco National Forum for Young at Risk, Delhi, led the program, engaging 52 participants, including Rectors and In-charges from the Dimapur Province.

Youth Involve (YI), an initiative of Bosco Institute Jorhat, celebrated its 10th anniversary alongside the bicentennial of Don Bosco's dream from September 17–19 at Siloam, Umiam. Twenty-six young social entrepreneurs, leading as many social projects and initiatives from Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, and Nagaland, and their Salesian and lay mentors and coaches came together for three days of sharing experiences and insights, and learning from successes, failures, distractions and challenges through presentations, exhibitions, conversations, reflections, and group activities. They were welcomed by Fr. George Palamattam SDB, the founder of Siloam.

The Salesian Social Forum (SSF), a group of like-minded Salesians, held a two-day National Convention at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, on August 10-11. The event, titled "Contextualizing the Dream of Don Bosco: A South Asian Workshop by Salesians in India Today," brought together about 40 Salesians from various Indian provinces to explore ways to renew Don Bosco's vision for the poor.

The Mass Communication and Journalism students of Salesian College Siliguri and Students of Don Bosco School Oodlabari in neighbouring Jalpaiguri district have teamed up to produce short radio dramas to create awareness on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One radio drama each is prepared for the 17 SDG goals.
