The Don Bosco Way: With the Youth, to Eradicate Poverty: Reduction of Multidimensional Poverty in South Asia.
First-year philosophy students of Salesian College, Dimapur, completed a two-week Skill Development Programme at AIDA, gaining practical skills for youth empowerment and social development. The programme trained students to become effective agents of positive change among youth and marginalised communities.
A Mega Job Fair at Don Bosco College, Kohima, on Saturday offered more than 1,000 job vacancies and aimed to boost employment for young people in Nagaland and the Northeast. The day-long event united job seekers, recruiters, government officials, educational institutions, and industry representatives to bridge the gap between talent and employment.
The halls of Microsoft’s Gachibowli campus in Hyderabad echoed with celebration and renewed hope, as 17 young graduates of the Data Centre Operations Management programme received their course certifications. In a significant achievement, 10 of them were also awarded internship offer letters from Microsoft, carrying an annual package of approximately ₹7 lakh, marking a major milestone in Don Bosco Tech Society’s mission to equip marginalised youth with industry-relevant skills and sustainable career opportunities.
Don Bosco Tech Society, in partnership with CCSE and supported by Sungrow India Pvt. Ltd., has launched a Solar PV training initiative in Najafgarh to equip 30 youth with green skills and employment pathways. Formalised through an MoU on 2 April 2026, the five-month program integrates technical training, life skills, and placement support to promote sustainable livelihoods.
Don Bosco Tech Society launched its TVET SOP Framework at SkillVention 2026, standardising training and institutional processes across its ITI network in India. Developed collaboratively over a year, the framework also advances readiness for NCVET recognition, reinforcing a focus on quality, consistency, and holistic youth development.
In a significant boost to youth employment in the North East, IndiGo, India’s largest airline, conducted a walk-in campus interview for Cabin Crew positions at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. The recruitment drive was organised in collaboration with Emporium Skills Training Institute (ESTI).
Don Bosco Tech Society has been conferred the Gold Award for Excellence in SkillTech and Career Solutions at the Economic Times TechEdu India Awards 2026, marking a significant milestone in its two-decade-long mission to empower youth through skill development. The Gold Award was presented to Fr. George Mathew, Executive Director of the Don Bosco Tech Society, who accepted the honour on behalf of the organisation. The recognition coincides with the Society’s 20-year journey in advancing skill-based education and employability among India’s youth.
A large-scale job drive was successfully conducted at Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute, Kadapa, on January 28, in collaboration with the National Career Service (NCS) and the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation(APSDC). The initiative aimed at creating meaningful employment opportunities for skilled youth across the region.
The Salesian Family is celebrating 150 years of missionary service with the release of Legacy of Unity, the third and final documentary in a jubilee trilogy marking the sesquicentennial of Saint John Bosco’s first missionary expedition in 1875. Don Bosco transformed missionary zeal into a way of life, entrusting his sons and daughters with a daring vision: to reach the young, especially the poorest and most abandoned, wherever they may be. The Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) have completed a region-wide Community Audit as part of their flagship initiative, Mission Poverty Eradication (MPE). On 15 November 2025, designated by the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) as a day of reflection, more than 427 communities across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal paused to evaluate their service to the poorest and most vulnerable youth.
