Students of Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur, had a rare opportunity to engage with scientists from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) during an interactive seminar on biodiversity and climate change. A mother and son duo from Don Bosco School Park Circus Kolkata are part of the United Nations Agency for Development and Peace (UNADAP)’s Climate Conference Delegation COP29, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November.
Over 100 students and faculty members from Salesian College Sonada and Sonada Higher Secondary School, along with monks from Sonada Monastery, police personnel, members of NGO and employees of the Forest Department, participated in planting over 1000 saplings in Tukrey Forest in Gorabari, Darjeeling.
The Forest Man of India, Padma Shri Mr. Jadav "Molai" Payeng joined the scouts and guides on New Year’s Day of 2023 for the plantation drive wherein over 3500 saplings were planted in the Assam Don Bosco University, Tapesia campus, Guwahati, Assam. This was to give the participants of the 14th National Boscoree an impetus of working towards a closer relationship with mother earth.
On 21 and 22 October 2022, 380 youth from across 29 Salesian institutions of the Province of Bombay participated in SYMBIOS 2022 at the Don Bosco campus in Matunga organised by the Youth Ministry Department of the Province. The theme of the event was ‘Do all through Love’. The topics that were touched upon were represented by the acronym ‘SWAG’ which stands for ‘Self, World, and God’.
The Eco Club at Fatima School Kodambakkam, Chennai, organized an Eco-Fest to instil in the students an environmental consciousness and thus to take responsibility for protecting the environment from further destruction.
