The Salesians of Don Bosco in South Asia recognize entrepreneurship as a vital pathway for empowering young people, particularly those from marginalized communities. Their initiatives focus on equipping students with practical skills, creativity, and confidence to start their own ventures rather than relying solely on traditional employment. Through technical institutes, vocational training centers, and short-term skill development programs, they nurture entrepreneurial mindsets by combining hands-on training with mentorship and exposure to real-world business practices. This approach helps students see self-employment as a viable and dignified option, fostering resilience and independence.

Beyond training, the Salesians actively support young entrepreneurs by creating networks and platforms where they can access resources, guidance, and opportunities. Initiatives such as Planning and Development Offices (PDOs) and Don Bosco Tech centers provide structured support for sustainable development, helping youth launch small enterprises that contribute to local economies. These programs emphasize social responsibility, encouraging students to build businesses that uplift their communities while ensuring financial stability. In this way, the Salesians blend entrepreneurship with their mission of holistic education—empowering young people to become not just job seekers, but job creators who embody values of service and innovation.
