Teach For Nepal organizes Learning Camp that leaves participants confident
The Group TFN works with young graduates by providing 2-year teaching fellowship at government schools and has been working in Nepal for the past ten years. They choose a specific number of government schools and volunteer to teach there for two years. They raise the standard and work culture of the local school and motivate students to excel in studies and in undertaking innovative projects at the school level. At the end of the school session, they bring together such highly motivated students and are allowed to exhibit their talents and projects.
Brother Philip, the Director of the Don Bosco Institute, accompanied by Deepak Neupane, a trainer, briefed the students about the importance of technical education and orientation to take up Technical studies. They were guided on tour through the classrooms and labs, including a recent Schneider Electrical Company-sponsored ‘Schneider Centre for Excellence in Power Domain’.
One of the animators of the group, Suman Prakash Chowdhury, said it was a wonderful experience to be on the Don Bosco Campus. “It is a confidence-building exercise,” spoke Miss Nishta Neupane when asked about the relevance of the camp. Puja Adhikary, a 24-year-old trainer, mentioned that the live-in experience allowed them to learn about more cooperation and team building.
Don Bosco Institute is spearheading the training of students in various skills and soft skills. Another 50-day programme for government school students who have finished their Class X exams in skills is to start on April 23.
