Don Bosco College, Golaghat, marked World Environment Day 2025 with a series of initiatives under the global theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution.” The event brought together faculty, students, and guests in a collective effort to raise awareness and take action against the mounting threat of plastic waste.
In a commendable display of community-driven environmentalism, Radio Salesian, in collaboration with the Rajahatta Explore Group, Anapurna Self-Help Group, and Kasturi SHG, marked World Environment Day 2025 with a significant tree-plantation drive. The initiative involved the planting of a variety of flowering and fruit-bearing trees in Rajahatta, Upper Sonada.
Students of Don Bosco Tuition Centre Nitika in Tangra, Kolkata, extended their Earth Day 2025 celebrations beyond their institution to inspire the local community. They transformed Radhanath Chowdhury Road, Seal Lane, and Tangra into a hub of environmental awareness, thus spotlighting the urgent need for sustainable practices.
Bosco College of Teacher Education (BCTE), Dimapur, has secured a B++ Grade in its first accreditation cycle by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.86. The B++ grade underscores BCTE’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous development.
To inspire young minds about the importance of water conservation and educate them on sustainable practices for efficient water use, the Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT), through Cauveri, the Province's Planning and Development Office, organized an Exposure Visit and Talent Expo for the Water Conservation Club members on October 15 at Don Bosco Thanjavur and Sengipatti Agri-farm.
Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) is set to host the International Conference on Emerging and Environment Sustaining Renewable Energy (ICEESRE-2024) on October 24-25, 2024. This conference, a collaborative effort with five Taiwanese universities, aims to promote global progress in renewable energy and ensure access to affordable, reliable, and modern energy by 2030. The contributing Taiwan universities are Cheng Shiu University, National Quemoy University, National Chung Cheng University, Kun Shan University, and Fu Jen Catholic University.
The youth from the three Salesian parishes in Ahmednagar organised a cleanliness drive at Chand Bibi Mahal, Ahmednagar, on August 13 in preparation for Independence Day. With masks and hand-gloves fifty-five youth from the three Salesian parishes in town, namely, Don Bosco Church, St Anne’s Church, and St John’s Church with Salesian Father James Tusacno, Father Vishawas Pereira, Father Ajay D’ Monte and Father Richard Burkhao initiated the cleaning drive.
Over 100 students and faculty members from Salesian College Sonada and Sonada Higher Secondary School, along with monks from Sonada Monastery, police personnel, members of NGO and employees of the Forest Department, participated in planting over 1000 saplings in Tukrey Forest in Gorabari, Darjeeling.
The students of Don Bosco school, Mariapuram, Warangal, in Telangana district, launched a tree plantation campaign on the five acres of land chanting Grow Bosco (‘Bosco’ in Italian refers to wood/forest). The children went on the plantation drive of fruit-bearing saplings with the accompaniment of bugles and drums.
The Forest Man of India, Padma Shri Mr. Jadav "Molai" Payeng joined the scouts and guides on New Year’s Day of 2023 for the plantation drive wherein over 3500 saplings were planted in the Assam Don Bosco University, Tapesia campus, Guwahati, Assam. This was to give the participants of the 14th National Boscoree an impetus of working towards a closer relationship with mother earth.
