Pulse therapy at the Don Bosco Centre, Mangalam
Mangalam Parish Hosts Free Nerve Therapy Camp, Bringing Relief to Residents
News reported by: KALAVANAL JIJI [INK]
St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Mangalam, has launched a free 15-day nerve therapy camp that is already drawing large numbers from the parish and neighbouring communities. The camp, organised at the Don Bosco Centre, began on June 19 and will continue until early July.
Organised at the Don Bosco Centre near the parish church, the camp began on June 19 and will continue until early July. Every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., participants receive pulse therapy sessions, and nearly 128 people attend daily.
The initiative was inaugurated by Mr Jose Chellappan, Vice Chairperson of the local Municipal Council, in the presence of Fr. Jibi Parekulam, Rector and Vicar of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. The medical expertise and equipment for the camp are being provided by Team Coinioc Alappuzha, a community health group.
Residents have already begun sharing encouraging feedback, strengthening the camp’s growing appeal. A woman in her late fifties, who attended the camp seeking relief from diabetes and joint pain, said she had not expected such quick results and was already walking better. Similar responses from other participants have added to the growing interest in the camp.
The programme is jointly organised by the Mangalam Social Service Committee and Don Bosco Alappuzha to reach nearly 700 families in the region.
Don Bosco Alappuzha, through its Integrated Development Society (IDS), supports livelihood promotion, women’s empowerment, health, and economic inclusion, especially among the fishing communities of Alappuzha.
As participation continues to grow, the camp has become more than a medical service. For many in Mangalam, it stands as a sign of compassionate community care.
