Don Bosco College Maram Hosts Personality Development Course with MBTI Test

Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, organized a specialized course titled “Personality Development: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Test and Analysis” for students in the Psychology Department. The programme, facilitated by Fr. Devassy Palatty SDB and organized by the Department of Psychology, engaged first and third-semester students in a unique journey of self-discovery.

The Episcopal Ordination of Rev. Fr. Dennis Panipitchai Sdb took place at Borduria, Arunachal Pradesh on 20 August 2018. There were 16 Bishops, about 150 priests, 250 Sisters & Other Religious and about 5000 faithful. It was a landmark event in the history of Catholic Church in East Arunachal Pradesh. It was a triple celebration of the 40th year of the arrival of the Faith in East Arunachal and more particularly in Borduria village, Silver Jubilee of the visit of St. Mother Teresa to Borduria on and the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Dennis.

The 4th Northern Zonal Conference of the Salesian Cooperators was inaugurated on 22 October 2012 at 7.00 am at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur. The conference will be concluded on 23 October 2012. The Northern Zone consists of the Provinces of New Delhi, Kolkatta, Silchar, Guwahati and Dimapur. There are 76 participants who have come from the various provinces.

The Annual Youth Meet 2012 of Kuda took place at Salesian College, Kuda Village (Dimapur) on 30th September drawing a large number of youngsters for fun, festivity, friendship and formation. The fiesta commenced at 9.15 A.M., inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Nestor Guria, Salesian Provincial, Dimapur. The theme of the Youth Fest this year was unique, being ``Youth for Ecology``.

SALESIANS LAUDED FOR EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH

On 21 November 2009, under the patronage of Don Bosco Youth Centre, Itanagar, the 2nd General Conference of the All Arunachal Private Schools` Association (AAPSA) was held. Wanglin Lowangdong, Hon`ble speaker Arunachal Pradesh, inaugurated the General Conference and delivered the key note address. Speaking at the occasion, Lowangdong lauded the initiative undertaken by the private Schools, under the guidance of the Salesians of Don Bosco. He praised the Salesians, especially the President, Fr. PC Philip for the dynamic leadership given to AAPSA in the past one year from its inception.

EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION AT ITANAGAR, ARUNACHAL PRADESH

Catholic Church, Itanagar organised Eucharistic procession at the Capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Rt. Rev. John Thomas, DD, Bishop of Itanagar presided over the Eucharist. There were about 25 priests concelebrating the Eucharist. Above 5000 faithful took part in the Eucharist and the procession.

St. Paul Vision 2009 was celebrated at Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh

A two-day programme to celebrate the year of St. Paul was conducted at Don Bosco, Kheti, Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh. Don Bosco School and Youth Centre Khonsa, organised St. Paul Vision 2009, where over 400 young students from 16 centres of Miao diocese, East Arunachal, spend two days of fun and learning to celebrate the year of St. Paul.

PRE-NOVITIATE HOUSE INAUGURATED - DON BOSCO AMGURI

The Pre-novitiate house of the Salesian Province of Dimapur was inaugurated today. It is situated at Amguri in Assam. Don Bosco School existed here along with the parish dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Rinaldi home is a new beginning. Amguri was selected as the location to begin the Pre-novitiate house. There are 15 Pre-novices for the Province of Dimapur. There are also 9 Pre-novices belonging to the Province of Guwahati.

NATIONAL COUNCIL OF DON BOSCO ALUMNI INDIA

The 3-day meeting of the National Council of the Don Bosco Alumni Association of India, held at the Administrative Training Institute at Kohima, Nagaland, came to a close today. The meeting was inaugurated by Dr. Chumben Murry, Minister for Agriculture of the State of Nagaland and a Don Bosco alumnus. The minister called on the members to ``pay back to Don Bosco for what they received from him by contributing to the society in which they find themselves.``

Around 150 members of the Salesian Family gathered at the Provincial House, Dimapur, today for the celebration of the annual Salesian Family Day. The function began with a solemn Eucharist presided over by Fr James Poonthuruthil SDB, Provincial of Dimapur. It was followed by an animation session on the Strenna of the year as well as the Common Identity and the Common Mission of the Salesian Family by Fr Salew Peter, Provincial Delegate for Salesian Family.

Dimapur, 15th May 2008: Homage to three Salesians - Fr. Raphael Paliakara SDB, Fr. Andreas Kindo SDB and Bro. Shinu Valliparambil SDB on their 7th death anniversary. To mark the occasion a monument is built on the spot where three Salesians were brutally gunned down by unknown assailants. For the Holy Mass, blessing and inauguration of the memorial monument His Grace Most Rev. Dominic Lumon, Archbishop of Imphal, Most Rev. Joseph Mittathany, Archbishop Emeritus, Rev. Fr. Linus Neli, Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Nestor Guria SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Dimapur, a good number of priests, sisters, public leaders, well wishers, Catholic youth and about 300 laity were present.
