Fr. Joseph Jeyaraj Swaminathan SDB of the Salesian Province of Chennai, has been appointed as a Consultor to the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development by the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, on 11 August 2026. He will serve in this role for a five-year term from 2026 to 2031.

In a gesture of solidarity with the flood-affected people of Assam, St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Harmutty, a Don Bosco institution, came forward to extend financial assistance of rupees two lakhs to flood victims in Sivasagar district. A delegation from the school travelled to Sivasagar to assess the situation of the flood-affected people and extend support to families struggling with the aftermath of the devastating floods. The relief fund was raised through the generous contributions of the teachers, students, parents and past pupils of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Harmutty.

Don Bosco Tech Society, Delhi, led a relief operation that reached 450 families across seven Gaon Panchayats in the Titabor Revenue Circle, with 25 youth volunteers helping pack and distribute essential relief materials.

Don Bosco Swimming Academy, Vaduthala, Kochi, saw its young swimmer Shreya Binil win a silver medal at the 42nd Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championship 2026 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, from August 6 to 9.

Nearly 100 residents of Mangalam's coastal villages, Alappuzha, Kerala, benefited from a free one-day medical camp organised by the Family Commission of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, PHC Mangalam, and IDS Alappuzha, bringing much-needed healthcare services closer to a community that often faces challenges in accessing medical care.

Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Kilpauk, in collaboration with DB Jananam and Eeranilam, inaugurated a two-day art exhibition on July 6 at DB Square on the college campus. The exhibition, themed "Addiction to Drugs and Its Evils in Society," highlighted the message of a drug-free society through creative expression.

Don Bosco Tech Society organised a nationwide online seminar on mental wellbeing ahead of World Youth Skills Day. Titled "Mental Health Matters – World Youth Skills Day Seminar," it was held on July 3 through Microsoft Teams as part of the organisation's preparations for the annual observance on July 15. The 90-minute session focused on promoting mental wellbeing, emotional awareness and holistic development among young trainees.
