India’s largest airline successfully conducted a campus recruitment drive for Cabin Crew positions in collaboration with Emporium Skills Training Institute (ESTI) at the Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC), Laitumkhrah, Shillong.

Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shillong, reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment through vocational training by recognizing an outstanding trainee with a meaningful gesture of support. At a recent ceremony held at the Centre, Director Fr. Michael Makri awarded a sewing machine to Ms. Sinora Khongshei, a graduate of the tailoring and embroidery program. The recognition celebrates her exemplary performance, resilience, and readiness to pursue a sustainable livelihood using the skills she has acquired. As one of the region’s foremost institutions in youth skill development, Don Bosco Youth Centre continues to champion practical training as a pathway to economic independence and personal growth.
The annual Youth Retreat organized by St. Anthony’s College concluded on Sunday after three days of prayer, reflection, and fellowship at the St. Anthony’s School grounds. Held from September 5 to 7, the retreat drew unprecedented participation, with more than 4,000 young people attending on the first two days and a record crowd of over 6,000 on the final day.
More than 250 young people from the dioceses of Shillong, Jowai, and Nongstoin gathered on September 6 for a day-long retreat at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shillong, in preparation for the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis.
The Umdang Parish in the West Khasi Hills witnessed a spiritually uplifting celebration as Diocesan Priest Father Sylvester Nongsiej of Nongstoin Diocese, fondly known as Fr. Syl, made his promise as a member of the Association of Salesian Co-operators.
