Don Bosco English Medium School, Azimganj, conducted a two-day Seminar on Healthy Living Habits for students of Classes 3-7 on 8–9 December, in collaboration with Anubhav Interactives Training Solutions, Kolkata. The programme featured Ms. Deblina Saha and Ms. Sarkar as the primary resource persons.
Fr. N. T. Scaria (Nedumattathil), distinguished alumnus of Salesian College Sonada, Class of 1964, has been conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award for Prison Reforms with Compassion at the 15th International Human Rights Summit & Awards held at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi, on International Human Rights Day. The event was organized by the All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties and Social Justice (AICHLS).
On December 6, Don Bosco School, Nerul, presented a compelling Biblical English musical titled “Faithfulness of One Man of God – DANIEL,” drawing the audience into the life of the steadfast prophet whose faith remained unshaken amidst trials, exile, and political turbulence. Centred on the theme “Faith that Stands Firm – Lessons from Prophet Daniel,” the production aimed to inspire young and old with the values of courage, truthfulness, spiritual discipline, and reliance on God.
Don Bosco Lonavla became a space of stillness, reflection, and vocational clarity on December 6–7 as eighteen young undergraduate aspirants participated in a focused discernment retreat led by Br Royston Colaco, Vocation Animator of the Salesian Province of St Francis Xavier, Bombay. Marking St Nicholas’ Day, the gathering included twelve Class-12 participants, two aspirants already journeying with the community, and four who travelled from Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh—all united by a single quest: to discern the call to Salesian religious life.
The Pushpanjali Centre and Gujarat Region FMA Community hosted a lively Bal Mela on 30 November, bringing together about 800 enthusiastic children from Baroda, Dakor, Gandhinagar, and Pansora. With the theme “Small Steps to a Brighter Future,” the event blended learning, creativity, and fun in a bright, energetic setting.
On Sunday, 7 December, thirteen lay faithful professed their promise as Salesian Co-operators for the first time at St John Bosco Parish, Mirik. The solemn Eucharist was presided over by Fr Dr. Tomy Augustine, Rector of Salesian College Siliguri and Provincial Council member, marking a moment in the life of the parish and the wider Salesian family in North Bengal.
A strong and united front against child marriage emerged in Chhota Udepur as DISHA Don Bosco Kawant, in collaboration with DRISTI Don Bosco Kapadvanj, organized a district-level awareness program under the national ‘Child Marriage Free India’ campaign. The initiative brought together representatives from government departments, NGO networks, nursing institutions, and youth groups who pledged concrete action toward ending the long-standing social practice.
The grounds of Don Bosco Youth Services (DBYS), Matunga, came alive once again as the Maschio Cup returned for its fourth consecutive edition, drawing young athletes from Salesian institutions across the Mumbai region. Held in honour of the late Fr. Maschio Aurelius, the annual tournament showcased exceptional sportsmanship, teamwork, and the growing enthusiasm for both football and throwball among the youth.
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem convened a landmark public symposium on November 29, 2025, titled “From the Visible to the Invisible: Reflections from Jerusalem on Sacred Images.” The gathering, hosted at the Notre Dame of Jerusalem Centre, took place under the patronage of three prominent Church leaders: H.B. Theophilus III, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem; H.B. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem; and His Grace Bishop Koryun Baghdasaryan, delegate of the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem. Don Bosco Avsar Chinchwad took a proactive step in addressing the growing crisis of youth unemployment by organizing the Mini Job Fair 2025. Invitations were sent to young job seekers, particularly college and ITI students who were struggling to find employment.
