The second batch of trainees at the Don Bosco Tech Rangajan Center, consisting of 25 youngsters hailing from Manipur, Nagaland and Assam, specializing in the Food and Beverage Service Associate job, completed their training on January 19. Originating from conflict-ridden areas like Kangpokpi and Imphal, many of these participants had previously confronted homelessness and family loss and struggled with substance abuse. With the able leadership of Brother Sunny Joseph, the Director of DB Tech Rangajan, and a dedicated batch of staff, these youth found hope through the free training initiative.

Throughout the two-and-a-half-month training program, the students were given comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge, basic computer skills, communicative English, and soft skills. They also gained invaluable industrial training experience at The Wild Dhansiri Borgos in Golaghat, providing first-hand insights into hotel operations. A 19-day practical training at Bonvilla Retreat and Iora The Retreat Hotel in Kaziranga further honed their skills.

The programme's success was evident as 15 students secured positions as Food Service Associates, Housekeeping Associates, and Front Office Associates at Vedick Resort in Gujarat, receiving a stipend of 15,000 along with food and accommodation for six months of on-the-job training. Another five students secured roles at Tamara Resort in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, with a competitive salary of 19,075, with food and accommodation. The remaining five candidates are poised to confirm local placements at Borgos Hotel Kaziranga and The Wild Dhansiri Borgos in Golaghat, each offering a monthly compensation of 10,000 with food and accommodation.

These trainees' personal struggles with substance abuse serve as a testament to their resilience as they now embark on promising and dignified career paths. The journey reached its culmination with a graduation ceremony and a heart-warming parents' meeting. Despite overcoming their own challenges, these individuals have paved the way for a brighter and more dignified future in meaningful careers.
