Don Bosco Tech Marks World Youth Skills Day Nationwide

News reported by: MIS DB TECH
Don Bosco Tech Society marked World Youth Skills Day 2026 on July 15 across its 95 training centres in India, engaging thousands of trainees, trainers, alumni, employers, and industry partners in programmes that promote employability, digital literacy, and lifelong learning. The observance was held under the United Nations theme, "Skills for a Shared Future."
The nationwide observance featured practical activities, including mock interviews, group discussions, digital learning sessions, skill demonstrations, competitions and cultural programmes, all aimed at preparing young people for employment, entrepreneurship and responsible citizenship.

Several centres highlighted emerging technologies in the evolving job market. At Don Bosco Tech JVS Palda, Indore, trainees attended hands-on sessions on website development, Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity, gaining insights into digital transformation, employment opportunities, adaptability and continuous upskilling.

At the Shillong Centre of BIDS, participants took part in motivational talks, interactive sessions and skill-based competitions that emphasised perseverance, teamwork and personal development. Team activities encouraged collaboration while strengthening confidence and camaraderie among trainees.

Across the country, trainees displayed their talents through poster-making, drawing, painting, storytelling, singing, quizzes, skits and cultural performances. Cross-domain activities and laboratory visits enabled participants to explore unfamiliar vocational trades, equipment and work processes, broadening their understanding of career opportunities.

Career readiness remained at the heart of the celebrations. Mock interviews, résumé-writing workshops, personality development sessions and interactions with trainers, alumni and employers provided trainees with practical exposure to recruitment processes and workplace expectations. Alumni shared their career journeys, while trainees reflected on communication, digital literacy and technical competence.

Programmes conducted in collaboration with partners, including the SBI Foundation, highlighted corporate social responsibility in expanding access to quality vocational training, modern infrastructure, industry-relevant curricula and placement opportunities for underserved youth.

"World Youth Skills Day reflects what we do every day at Don Bosco Tech: build skills, confidence and opportunity for young people," said Pardeep Jindal, Regional Manager, Don Bosco Tech Society.
