DB YaR Forum Launches Annual Campaign on Safe and Responsible Digital Engagement

The Don Bosco National Forum for the Young at Risk (DB YaR Forum) launched its Annual Campaign 2026–27, “Walk with Me in My Digital Journey,” at a hybrid event hosted at Don Bosco Ashalayam on August 29. The launch marked the conclusion of the previous annual campaign, “Uphold Our Hopes, Unfold Our Dreams,” and brought together DB YaR centres from across India.

The campaign aims to help children and young people navigate the digital world safely and responsibly, while encouraging them to use technology for learning, creativity and personal growth.

The programme began with a prayer dance by girls from Auxilium Snehalaya, New Delhi, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Fr. Patrick Lepcha welcomed the participants, and a short film on cyber safety introduced the theme and highlighted the challenges children face in the digital environment.

Fr. Joe Prabu, Executive Director of the DB YaR Forum, called on young people to “be smart, be safe, and speak up” while using digital platforms. Mr RK John then outlined the objectives and key focus areas of the new campaign.

Fr. Naresh Kujur, Youth Ministry Delegate of the New Delhi Province and chief guest, released the campaign poster. Addressing the gathering, he encouraged children to use technology to learn, create and discover their talents. He also stressed the importance of recognising the inherent dignity and value of every child. He urged caregivers to accompany children with patience, guidance and loving kindness throughout their digital journey.

Fr. Kujur also released the Homelink Network Annual Report 2025–26 during the programme.

As part of the campaign launch, children and caregivers jointly took a pledge committing themselves to responsible digital citizenship. The event concluded with cultural presentations, including a mime and dance performance.

Around 150 participants attended the programme, underscoring the shared responsibility of children, caregivers and educators in creating a safer and more empowering digital environment for young people. The campaign launch concluded with a clear call to continue working together to guide children toward safe and responsible digital engagement.
