Salesian Higher Education embraces a two-fold mission: fostering academic competence that prepares students to excel in the global job market, while maintaining Salesian animation as a “radiant center” of the Preventive System, marked by family spirit and personal accompaniment. Don Bosco Higher Education India (DBHEI) is affiliated to the Salesian Institutes of Higher Learning (IUS), Rome, Italy to cater to the needs of the Higher Education Institutions in the South Asia Region. There are 52 institutions belonging to 12 Provinces of the South Asia Region. Higher education courses offered include Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges, Agricultural colleges, Arts, Commerce and Science Colleges, Colleges of Education and Specialization centres.
In a landmark move aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), Salesian College Autonomous Siliguri (estd 2009) has formally introduced the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) — a four-year dual-degree course designed to prepare future educators with both subject expertise and pedagogical training.
Celebrating a legacy of education in the Salesian cradle of South India, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, commemorated its Platinum Jubilee on Monday evening. Marking 75 years of service in higher education with a strong emphasis on value-based formation, the milestone celebration was graced by the Rector Major, Rev. Fr. For the first time in the history of the Salesian Province of Chennai (INM), Salesians holding doctoral degrees in theological and secular disciplines gathered for a collective academic reflection, marking a significant milestone in the province’s intellectual and pastoral journey. The Scholars Meet was held at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, as part of the college's Platinum Jubilee celebrations and in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Gravissimum Educationis, the Church’s landmark document on Christian education.
The Don Bosco Higher Education South Asia (DBHEI) Annual Conference and General Body Meeting 2025 will convene from November 18 to 20 in Panjim, Goa, hosted by the Salesian Province of Panjim. Centred on the theme “Participatory Models of Higher Education,” the gathering will bring together more than 60 leaders and educators from across South Asia to explore collaborative pathways for the future of higher learning.
At the sidelines of Rozgar Mela 2.0, a group of first-year students from Salesian College Siliguri drew significant attention with a live demonstration of their heart attack prediction software. This project has quickly become a symbol of youthful innovation and purpose-driven technology.

Rome prepares to welcome a landmark gathering of Salesian educational leaders from across the globe as the International Conference on “Participatory Models in Salesian Higher Education: Synodal & Salesian Facilitation” opens on 27 October. The five-day event, part of the Jubilee of Education celebrations, is hosted by the Salesian University, Rome, and organized by the Salesian Institutes of Higher Education under the aegis of the Salesian Youth Ministry Department.
A remarkable opportunity now invites scholars, educators, theologians, and researchers across disciplines to engage in an emerging field that bridges theology and science — Life-and-Death Education. Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Mirik, marked a proud milestone by felicitating 11 alumni who secured admission to premier medical and engineering institutions over the past four years. The ceremony, held in the school auditorium, celebrated the achievements of students who cleared competitive entrance examinations, including NEET, All India JEE, and West Bengal JEE.

Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, organized a specialized course titled “Personality Development: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Test and Analysis” for students in the Psychology Department. The programme, facilitated by Fr. Devassy Palatty SDB and organized by the Department of Psychology, engaged first and third-semester students in a unique journey of self-discovery.
