Rashtriya Sanman Award and Quality Brand India Award 2015-17 go to DB Balprafulta

. Mumbai: Don Bosco Balprafulta, Mumbai received the `` Rashtriya Sanman Award`` and ``Quality Brand India Award 2015 -17`` on 30 April, 2015, the eve of Maharashtra Day, at Hotel Kohinoor Continental, Andheri. The award is a recognition and appreciation for the social and humanitarian work done in the field of promotion and protection of child rights by Balprafulta from its inception in 2000.
Balprafulta is a project of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Mumai, working for saving and rehabilitating marginalized children in the City. It functions as a Child Rights organization, aiming at the holistic development of the child, and focused upon enabling children to procure their rights through state and civil participation. The award was given away by eminent Hindi film playback singer, Mr Ghansham Vaswani. The award ceremony began with a conference on the theme ``National Growth through Individual Contribution`` by Sangeeta Chacko, Percept Communications Ltd., and Mr. Ashok K. Maitre, Managing Director, SRRIOM Management Consultancy Group. Film personalities Jayshree T, Asawari Joshi, Dev Malhotra (Director), Rangeet, Dr. Damodar Khadse and Kishori Ambiye were present to grace the occasion. The awards were received by Father Gregory Almeida, Director of Don Bosco BalPrafulta, and Father Jesu Robinson, Assistant Director of Shelter Don Bosco, Mumbai. ``The credit for the award definitely goes to all the past directors and staff members who have been associated with Don Bosco Balprafulta``, said Father Almeida receiving the award. This is the first time Balprofulta is receiving such a national award. Speaking about the projects in which Don Bosco Balprafulta is involved, Father Almedia revealed that Balprafulta has currently three projects under hand: ``Project Talaash`` (Search) for the benefit of runaway children at Mumbai central Station, ``Project Umeed`` (Hope) catering to children in the different juvenile Observation Homes in Mumbai, and ``Project Saksham`` (Empowernment), aimed at substance abusing children and school drop outs at Govandi and Mankhurd areas of the City. The director also announced that from June this year, Don Bosco Balprafulta will launch a new project, ``Project Ashiana``, for children who are involved in substance abuse in major railway stations. Children below 18 involved in substance abuse and opt to be part of the project will be sent to Maria Ashiana, Lonavla for detoxification and therapeutic treatment.
