The Young Priests’ Quinquennium Meeting of the Province of St Joseph (INH) was held on 11–12 November at Don Bosco PARA (People’s Action for Rural Awakening), Ravulapalem, where 30 young priests gathered for two days of reflection on Indian constitutional values, pastoral responsibility, and youth engagement. The meet sought to strengthen their commitment to justice, liberty, equality and fraternity—values central to both the Indian Constitution and the Church’s mission.
Don Bosco Junior College, Chandur, came alive with nostalgia, gratitude, and laughter as nearly 200 alumni gathered for a grand Past Pupils' Meet on November 8. The event celebrated decades of Salesian education, lifelong friendships, and the enduring values imparted by the Salesians of Don Bosco.
In a vibrant spirit of revival and renewal, catechists and faith educators from across the Salesian Province of Hyderabad came together for the Empowering Faith Educators Program held on November 6–7. The two-day gathering, themed “A Call to Revival and Renewal in God’s Service,” sought to strengthen the catechetical mission through reflection, sharing, and skill development.
The Don Bosco Skill Development Centre, Parvathipuram, inaugurated a short-term Tally software course on November 4 in collaboration with the National Institute for Rural Empowerment and Development (NIRED), Rajam. The initiative aims to foster youth employment and empowerment by equipping participants with job-oriented skills that promote sustainable livelihoods.
The Young Priests and Religious Training Program for Youth Ministry 2025, initiated by BIRDY, Hyderabad, under the banner of the Telugu Catholic Bishops' Council (TCBC), concluded successfully on October 28. Centred on the theme "Empower Faith Educators to Lead with Purpose," the two-day formation program brought together young priests, religious, and youth directors from across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to strengthen their leadership and pastoral roles in accompanying today's youth.
The much-anticipated new website of the Bosco Institute of Research and Development for Youth (BIRDY) was officially inaugurated by Fr. Biju Michael, SDB, the Regional Head of Don Bosco South Asia, during a special session of the Leaders Meet. The event brought together key leaders and stakeholders of the Salesian community, underscoring the initiative’s importance in advancing youth development and digital outreach.
A book release on caring for the creation in the South Indian Telugu language, took place on Oct. 15, 2025, at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad (INH), in the presence of Fr. Biju Michael – General Councillor for South Asia and in the presence of Fr. Thomas Santiagu – Provincial and amidst the Rectors and Leaders of the Province.
The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) National Mega Jubilee Celebrations brought together over 3,500 young Catholics from across India at the Divine Retreat Centre, Chalakudy, from October 1 to 5, for a week of prayer, reflection, and celebration of faith. Themed “WITNESS: You also are my witnesses, because you have been with me” (Jn 15:27), the event blended spirituality, culture, and dialogue on living Christian witness in today’s world.
The first annual retreat of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad concluded on October 4 at the Salesian Provincial House, marking a week of profound spiritual renewal, prayer, and fraternity. The retreat, preached by Fr. Jose Varicaseril SDB from the Shillong Province, centred on the theme “Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark.”
St. Theresa’s Parish, Sanathnagar, was filled with joy and gratitude on October 2 as it celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the Salesian Mission in Hyderabad, coinciding with the parish feast of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus. The day reflected fifty years of pastoral dedication, youth empowerment, and community service by the Salesians of Don Bosco.
The Leaders and Animators’ Formation (LAF) Programme was held at BIRDY (Bosco Institute of Research and Development for Youth), Hyderabad, from September 12 to 14, on the theme “Salesian Youth Leaders as Pilgrims and Beacons of Hope to the Family, to the Church and to the Society.” The three-day gathering brought together 85 participants from the Provinces of Kolkata, Delhi, and Hyderabad.
The Don Bosco Youth Pilgrimage, held at the Don Bosco Shrine in Bandlaguda Jagir, infused fresh energy and faith into young participants from the Salesian Parishes of Bandlaguda, Borabanda, and Sanathnagar. With the theme "Youth as Pilgrims of Hope," the day-long gathering blended prayer, reflection, fellowship, and celebration, drawing inspiration from the life and mission of Don Bosco.
