The 5th Provincial Chapter of the Salesians of Delhi (8th- 12th February) has been declared closed by Fr.Michael Peedikayil, Provincial and President of the Chapter. The moderator, Fr. Shilanand Kerketta handed over to the President the set of documents and proceedings in the presence of 40 delegates who represent the 175 Salesians of the Province.

The Fourth day of the Chapter was true to the slogan of the Chapter: Retrospect, Introspect, and Prospect. The Chapter members were very enthusiastic about the task assigned to them by the Province and it was very evident the way members worked non-stop for almost five hours in the morning at a stretch. Their enthusiasm and vigour was contagious.

New Delhi, 10th February 2010, `Retrospect - Introspect - Prospect` - This was the leit motif for the Provincial Chapter 2010 suggested by Fr. Shilanand Kerketta, the Moderator. The first day of the Chapter saw the province retrospect on its life and mission as the Provincial presented the report on the state of the Province. Wednesday, 10th February, the third day of the Chapter was devoted more to introspect with a view to prospect, especially on two themes - `The Need for Vocation Ministry` and `New Frontiers`. The day began on a very joyful note for the Chapter members as Fr. Shilanand Kerketta, the Vice-Provincial and Moderator celebrated his birthday. During the morning prayers, the chapter members prayed for God`s blessings on the birthday celebrant.

The Provincial Chapter entered the second day with a special celebration of the Eucharist centred around the theme, Salesians - Missionaries to the Young. Fr. Melchior Tirkey, the main celebrant, in his homily invited the participants to be like Zaccheus - eager to meet Jesus, ready to be cleansed by Him and experience the joy of being with Jesus so that we can offer Him to the young. During the Eucharist, the jubilarians of the Province were specially remembered. Fr.Joseph Chittattukalam - 50 years as a Salesian, Frs. Melchior Tirkey, Libratus Bara and Simon Ekka - 25 years as priests and Frs. Amrit Ekka, Henry Kumrawat, Babu Varghese Thoombalan and Bro. Mani - as Salesians.

New Delhi 08th-10th October: BOSCO Delhi organised a three days residential training programme for the members of Self Help Groups working across six states namely Delhi, U.P, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Orissa and Punjab. 27participants came from the remote villages of these places.

Cyriac, Mr. Linto, Ms. Minu Thommen, Ms. Susana Maria Kraft and Mr. Anwer) represented the Don Bosco Training Institutes in India in the 2nd ``Global Skills Summit`` oragnised by FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) on 20th & 21st August 2009 in New Delhi. The summit focused on the Emerging Skills in India by 2020.
