The annual Mission Poverty Eradication (MPE) review, REWIND 2026, began at Don Bosco Provincial House, New Delhi, on September 9, renewing Salesian commitment to confronting poverty. The two-day gathering brought together Salesian Provincials, Delegates and mission partners from across South Asia, along with Rector Major Fr Fabio Attard, General Councillor for South Asia Fr Biju Michael and Director of MPE South Asia Fr Tony Pellissery.

The Rector Major, Fr Fabio Attard, speaking to the former General Councillors and Provincials and the SPCSA Council during the Holy Eucharist on the occasion of the 53rd SPCSA Council Meeting in Delhi, reflected on the Gospel account of Jesus healing the man with the withered hand (Lk 6:6-11). He invited Salesian leaders to examine whether their own vocation and mission remain open to healing, compassion and service, or have become constrained by suspicion, routine or institutional concerns.

The South Asia Region has released Hand in Hand: Lay Leaders Sharing in the Salesian Mission, a visually rich publication on the contributions of lay collaborators to the Salesian charism and mission across the region. Rector Major Fr Fabio Attard released the book in New Delhi and handed it over to Fr Mathew Valiyakattel, the book's coordinator and designer.

The Salesian South Asia Region has begun preparations for the 2027 Team Visit of the Rector Major, Fr Fabio Attard, and the General Council, scheduled for October 2027 in Bengaluru. The preparations took a unique form, with a gathering of former and current leaders focused on fraternity, gratitude, listening, and discernment. Former General Councillors and Provincials, along with South Asia Regional Councillor Fr Biju Michael and the current Provincials of the Region, met at the Don Bosco Provincial House, New Delhi, in the presence of the Rector Major Fr. Fabio Attard.
