Job Fair Boosts Youth Employability at Salesian College, Dimapur
The Salesian College of Higher Secondary Education, Dimapur, turned into a vibrant hub of opportunity and ambition during the one-day Job Fair 2025, organized collaboratively by the Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco Job Placement Network, District Employment Exchange, and the NCSC for Differently Abled.
The event drew around 150 enthusiastic job seekers, out of whom 90 candidates were shortlisted for prospective employment opportunities. Aimed at empowering local youth through direct interaction with employers and career guidance, the fair marked a pivotal step in bridging the gap between education and meaningful employment in Nagaland.
Special guest Shri Abdu Saleem TK, Head of Office and Rehabilitation Officer at NCSC Dimapur, emphasized the importance of acquiring industry-relevant skills. He was joined by Fr. Dr. Roy George, Director of AIDA, who, in his keynote address, highlighted the importance of skill development in driving employment and social empowerment.
The fair featured both online and offline interviews by diverse recruiters, including Chilli Breeze (Graphic Design), Jio Reliance, Indian Army’s Agniveer Program, Career Education Consultancy (CEC), Flyways Aviation, Shri Vidya Mandir Educational Institutions, T Tec, Auxilium School, OHAA Tech School, and Santhome School.
The event began with an invocation prayer by Fr. Elow Samuel, Rector of the College, followed by a welcome address from Fr. Dr. Paul Punii, Principal of Salesian College. Mr. Sebi Chacko, Program Coordinator at AIDA, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all stakeholders for making the event a success.
Beyond job interviews, participants engaged in counselling sessions and received vocational training information, making the fair a holistic career-building experience. With its inclusive and proactive approach, Job Fair 2025 reaffirmed the mission of AIDA and the Don Bosco Job Placement Network to cultivate a skilled, confident, and employable youth population in the region.
