South Asia Salesian Family pledges to network in mission

. CHENNAI: The seminar ``Family as the Nucleus of Evangelization`` held for the mission delegates and other representatives of the Salesian Family at The Citadel, Chennai, from 9 November concluded on Tuesday, 11 November with a renewed pledge to network and collaborate for the work of the mission.
The participants of the the three-day seminar felt that the resolve to network in mission as members of one family in South Asia committed to a cause, would revitalize them and give them a new sense of purpose. They were of the opinion that although each congregation within the Salesian Family had its own plan for the family ministry, close collaboration in having common animation programmes, networking among the various types of groups for missionary animation and uniting in prayer at the prayer mission hub will have far reaching implications for the effectiveness of their missionary effort. On the previous day 8 November, the Association of Crusaders for Christ with Mary, a lay group from Goa chartered the way for a meaningful apostolate in families. The enthusiasm generated among the participants of the seminar by this animation was phenomenal. On the same day the seminar participants celebrated also a Eucharist at the tomb of St. Thomas at Mylapore, presided over by the Regional Councillor for South Asia Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, at which they prayed for the spirit of the Apostle who came to this Region and gave his life in proclaiming the love of Christ. Archbishop Emeritus of Madras-Mylapore M.
