In a significant initiative aimed at curbing drug addiction and preventing school dropouts among the youth, Rajanagar Parish of Arunachal Pradesh organized a one-day awareness programme on September 10. Sr. Jacinta Topno, FMA, the resource person, shared valuable insights on combating these pressing issues with 231 young persons.

Sr. Jacinta Topno emphasized the importance of education and discouraged young individuals from becoming dropouts. Her inspirational words resonated with the audience, encouraging them to persevere in their studies and not succumb to the allure of leaving school prematurely.

The event at Rajanagar Parish was a significant milestone in the ongoing battle against drug addiction and the dropout crisis. It united the youth, religious leaders, and government officials in their commitment to safeguarding the younger generation.

As communities come together to address such critical societal issues, the hope is that these efforts will lead to a brighter and more promising future for the youth of Rajanagar Parish and beyond.

Before this awareness programme, Mr. Oling Lego, the Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Bordhumsa, brought together a diverse panel of experts, including two Catholic priests, namely Fr. Rajesh Lakra SDB, the Parish Priest of Rajanagar and Fr Churuliyil Manoj Abraham, Headmaster of Don Bosco School Galenja, two Buddhist monks, Gaon Budhas, and government representatives. Their collective wisdom was solicited to address the grave concern of drug addiction, particularly among the younger people.
