News reported by: Joseph Pulinthanath sdb
Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, the Regional Councillor for South Asia, began the extraordinary visitation of the Province of Shillong on 15th February 2017.
The Visitor spent the first 10 days of the visitation in the six houses of Tripura - Agartala, Mandwi, Baijalbari, Herma, Bishramganj and Pathaliaghat. In each of the houses, the Vistior, who carries out his task in the name of the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime, met with different groups - teachers, parish council and addressed different groups of students in our institutions. He also met with each community separately and with every confrere individually. The first leg of the Visitation concluded on 24th February with a meeting of all the Salesians in Tripura that the Visitor convened. Fr. George Maliekal, the Provincial, welcoming the visitor on his arrival at Agartala on 15th February said that visitation would surely be a `time of grace` for the communities and for the province.
