Four Salesian Clerics Make Perpetual Profession at Savio Juniorate, Mawlai

A solemn and grace-filled celebration marked the Perpetual Profession of four Salesian clerics at Savio Juniorate, Mawlai, on Sunday, as they dedicated themselves permanently to God in the spirit of St. John Bosco.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. John Zosiama SDB, Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco – Shillong Province, who officially received the perpetual vows of the candidates.

The newly professed were Rajib Pasleiñ SDB and Soniverius Sad SDB from the Shillong Province, Cl. Phikow Paul Leriina SDB from the Salesians of Don Bosco – Dimapur Province, and Cl. Sudip Dominic Mondol SDB from the Salesians of Don Bosco – Kolkata Province. Before the congregation, they professed the vows of obedience, poverty, and chastity, committing themselves fully to the Salesian mission.

The celebration drew parents, guardians, relatives, friends, members of the Salesian Family, confreres, and aspirants, all of whom gathered to witness and share in this significant milestone in the young Salesians' lives.

In his homily, Fr. John Zosiama expressed gratitude to the clerics for their generous response to God’s call. He acknowledged their years of formation and appreciated the support and witness of their families. Congratulating them on their “perpetual yes” to the Lord, he encouraged them to remain faithful, joyful, and deeply rooted in the charism of Don Bosco by becoming signs and bearers of God’s love to the young, especially the poor and marginalised.

Following the Mass, a felicitation programme was organised in honour of the newly professed. The celebration featured a festive band performance, congratulatory songs by aspirants and confreres, a ceremonial cake-cutting, and a fellowship breakfast shared in the spirit of Salesian fraternity.
