The Collaborative Impact of the BRO–JPN Job Fair
In Guwahati, on 16 September 2026, a hall filled with anticipation became the stage for transformation. Bosco Reach Out (BRO), Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN), India, National Career Service (NCS), ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco Technical Maligaon, Parish Youth, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment joined hands to create more than a Job Fair—it was a collective movement to empower young lives.
At St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, Panbazar, the ceremonial lamp lit by Rev. Fr. Thomas Lakra SDB symbolized more than tradition—it symbolized light breaking into the uncertainties of youth searching for direction. Rev. Fr. Ignatius Gari SDB’s welcome address reminded everyone that this was not just about employment, but about dignity and opportunity.
Rev. Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, Shri Arvind K. Ramteke, and Smt. Nilutpala Deka spoke directly to the young participants, urging them to embrace resilience and seize opportunities. Their words resonated deeply. One participant reflected, “I came here thinking I might not fit anywhere. But hearing them, I realized that every skill I have matters, and someone out there values it.”
Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial of Guwahati, looked across the crowd and saw more than numbers—he saw determination. His appreciation for the youth’s courage underscored the collective spirit of the initiative.
Recruiters as Mentors
The presence of recruiters—from SBI Life Insurance, Reliance Jio, Maxx Fashion, QuessCorp Guwahati, and others—was not just transactional. They introduced their organisations, explained career paths, and offered guidance. A young attendee shared, “Even if I don’t get selected today, I now know what industries expect. That clarity is priceless.”
For many, meeting representatives from diverse companies like The Employment Providers, New Checks Pvt. Ltd., Summer Sands Beach Resort, Mynt Careers Pvt. Ltd., Flywayy Guwahati, Iprocess–ICICI, Yuva Shakti, and FMC Global, was their first glimpse into the breadth of opportunities available.
With 170 job seekers and 12 recruiters, the fair became a living example of collaboration. It wasn’t just about filling vacancies—it was about building confidence, sparking ambition, and showing youth that they are supported by a network of organisations and leaders who believe in their potential.
One participant summed it up beautifully: “Today, I didn’t just apply for jobs. I discovered possibilities. I felt part of something bigger—like the community wants me to succeed.”
A Shared Commitment
The BRO–JPN Job Fair stands as a testament to what can be achieved when institutions, recruiters, and communities unite. It created pathways to sustainable livelihoods, but more importantly, it instilled hope. For the youth of Guwahati, it was not just a fair—it was a reminder that their journey is shared, and their future is worth investing in.
