Workshop on Salesian Pedagogy
The AIDBES organised a two-day training programme at Don Bosco, Manikandam, Trichy, for the Salesians, teachers, and members of the Salesian Family of Trichy Province on April 24 and 25. Fr. John Parankimallil (Fr. P.D. John) served as the resource person. Around 35 participants, comprising 12 Salesians, 21 teachers, 2 past pupils, and one VDB member, attended.
Fr. P. D. John, with excellent content, engaged the group through activities and brain teasers, communicating the core principles of Salesian Pedagogy.
The Manikandam community, with Fr Barnabas, provided an excellent experience in terms of food and accommodation.
All participants appreciated the training programme. The workshop also prompted reflection on teaching practices and educator–student relationships, offering new insights and methods for better understanding and accompanying young people.
