The Mega Job Fair 2026 was formally inaugurated at Don Bosco High School, Sector 42-A, Seawoods West, marking a collaborative effort to promote dignified and just employment. The initiative was organized by the Association of Muslim Professionals in collaboration with the Bombay Catholic Sabha, with support from Don Bosco Avsar, the Salesian Province of Mumbai, and Markaz‑e‑Falah.

The programme commenced with reporting and refreshments, followed by a prayer song and the formal inauguration. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kevin D’Souza of the Bombay Catholic Sabha underscored that employment is not merely a commercial transaction but a social responsibility. He called upon employers to ensure fair wages, timely payments and ethical working conditions, stressing that just employment practices contribute directly to national development and social stability.

Placing the event within the broader Salesian mission, Fr Allwyn Misquitta SDB highlighted the legacy of St John Bosco, who championed fair labour conditions for young workers during the industrial era. He noted that employment generation and skill development have long been central to the Salesian charism, especially in serving the poor and marginalized.

The Rector, Fr Barnabe D’Souza SDB, pointed out that Don Bosco institutions across India continue to organize similar job fairs in cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune, reflecting a sustained commitment to breaking cycles of poverty and enabling upward mobility among youth.

During the event, Fr Savio Silveira and the Director of Don Bosco Avsar, Fr Gregory D’Almeida, visited the venue and were felicitated for their encouragement and support.

Held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Job Fair offered opportunities across sectors including Engineering, IT, Telecom, Hospitality, Logistics, FMCG, Retail and Banking. Open to candidates from all communities, eligibility ranged from 10th- and 12th-pass candidates to graduates and experienced professionals. A free employability training session was also provided to registered participants.

The third such Job Fair, hosted at Don Bosco, Seawoods, within a year, recorded over 300 registrations, signalling growing confidence in the platform. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming a shared commitment to enhancing quality of life through ethical employment and collaborative social responsibility.
