Don Bosco Dhisha – Career Guidance and Job Placement Services, Hyderabad, has been honoured with the State Award for Best Social Service Organisation in the field of Career Guidance and Job Placements by the Honourable Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy. The recognition acknowledges the organisation’s sustained contribution to youth empowerment and employment facilitation across the state.
The award was received on behalf of the organisation by Fr. Justin SDB, Regional Director of Don Bosco Dhisha, Telangana, and Mr Ivon Vaz, Coordinator. The occasion also represented the collective efforts of Fr. Thomas Santiago, Provincial of Hyderabad; Fr. Sarath, Director of Bosco Seva Kendra; the Regional Directors—Fr. Jeevan SDB (Vijayawada) and Fr. Guptha SDB (Visakhapatnam)—as well as the entire Don Bosco Dhisha team and the Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN). The honour included a cash award of ₹2 lakh.
Between 2019 and 2025, Don Bosco Dhisha has played a pivotal role in advancing youth employability in Telangana. During this period, the organisation onboarded more than 10,620 young job seekers, provided employability and skill training to 8,265 youth, and successfully facilitated employment for over 6,000 youngsters across diverse sectors. Its interventions are grounded in the Salesian preventive system, which emphasises accompaniment, skill formation, and access to dignified employment.
Reacting to the recognition, Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj, National Director of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network, described the award as a significant milestone. He noted that the state-level honour reaffirms the Salesians of Don Bosco's commitment to the holistic development of young people, particularly those from marginalised and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, through focused career guidance and job-placement initiatives.
Fr. Thomas Santiago, Provincial of Hyderabad, echoed this sentiment, stating that Don Bosco Dhisha continues to serve as a beacon of hope by guiding young people towards meaningful careers and sustainable livelihoods. He added that the state's recognition further validates the organisation’s mission-driven approach and its long-standing service to youth development.
The award stands as a testament to Don Bosco Dhisha’s impact-oriented work and its ongoing dedication to empowering young people through education, skills, and employment opportunities across Telangana.
