The students of Classes 8 to 12 of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, took part in a one-day spiritual retreat on October 25, at the Ave Maria Retreat Centre, Zhadima.

Students of Classes 8 to 12 from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, spent a day in reflection and prayer during a one-day spiritual retreat held at the Ave Maria Retreat Centre, Zhadima. The retreat, conducted in a serene and prayerful setting, aimed to deepen the students’ faith and strengthen their spiritual foundation.

The retreat opened with a session by Madam Gracy on the theme “Doorways of Temptation.” She spoke about the subtle ways temptation can creep into one’s life and underscored the importance of spiritual discipline. Emphasizing prayer, fasting, Scripture reading, confession, and participation in the Eucharist, she encouraged students to use these practices as means to guard their hearts and minds.

In the second session, Fr. Peter guided the students through a reflection based on Jeremiah 29:11 and John 10:10, reminding them of God’s promise of hope and abundant life. Drawing inspiration from the life of Moses, he urged the young participants to remain steadfast in faith and to trust God’s purpose even in moments of uncertainty or struggle.

The retreat concluded with a solemn time of praise, worship, and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. The experience proved to be spiritually enriching for the students, offering them renewed motivation to live out their faith with greater purpose, joy, and trust in God’s plan.
