Don Bosco College, Golaghat, celebrated the dedication and leadership of its National Cadet Corps members with the NCC Rank Distribution Ceremony, recognizing 20 outstanding cadets—11 girls and nine boys—from the 74th Assam Girls (I) Company NCC and the 12 Assam Battalion NCC.

The ceremony was presided over by Lt. Col. J.S. Chauhan, Commanding Officer of the 12 Assam Battalion NCC, who attended as Guest of Honour alongside Senior JCO Manuhar Gurung of the 74th Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC, Naib Subedars, senior PI staff, and Principal Dr. Fr. A. Amaladoss. Cadets welcomed the dignitaries with traditional Phoolam Gamusas, followed by an address from Under Officer Tingdan Wangsu.

Distributing the ranks, Lt. Col. Chauhan urged cadets to view their new insignia as symbols of discipline, respect, and service. “When soldiers march together in troops, they can bring down a bridge,” he said, calling on them to embrace unity and perseverance. Principal Dr. Fr. Amaladoss congratulated the recipients, encouraging them to excel in both NCC and academic pursuits.

The event came on the heels of the Combined Annual Training Camp – 67, hosted at Don Bosco College from July 15 to 24. The camp brought together over 500 cadets from institutions under the 1 NL Girls Bn NCC and 1 NL Boys Bn NCC. Training sessions included physical fitness drills, leadership workshops, and community outreach activities, complemented by cultural events and awareness programs.
