Digital-Age Trailblazers: Youth Leadership Camp at Salesian College
In an inspiring step towards shaping the leaders of tomorrow, Salesian College Sonada, in collaboration with Project Missio, hosted a Youth Leadership Animation Programme themed “Leaders in the Digital World” on July 20. The event brought together around 70 enthusiastic young participants from 26 youth centres across the region.
The day-long initiative aimed to instil leadership values tailored for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. The highlight of the programme was a compelling session by motivational speaker Mr. Rashik Chettri, who underscored the idea that leaders are made, not born. “Leadership,” he said, “starts with managing oneself—your thoughts, your body, and your soul.” His session sparked motivation and encouraged the youth to embrace action, continuous learning, and inner discipline as core leadership principles.
After a group photo session and lunch, the participants engaged in zonal group discussions led by Brs. Amit, Littlestar, and William, fostering deeper dialogue and reflection. The day concluded with a youth centre planning session, facilitated by Fr. Clement Lakra, which guided the young leaders in translating their learnings into actionable plans for their respective communities.
