Don Bosco Girls win Eastern Zone Level Inter School Brass Band Competition
St. Xavier's Hr. Sec. School, Pathaliaghat, a Don Bosco Institution, bagged the first prize in the Eastern Zonal Inter-School Band Competition under Girl's Brass Band category held on December 22, at Govt. Boy's Hr. Sec. School , Bhubaneswar in Odisha.
The school represented the state of Tripura in the competition, organised by Home Ministry of India in collaboration with CBSE, Delhi. Earlier in November St. Xavier's School took part in the state level inter school band competition held in Agartala bagging the first prize.
A four member jury from the Army judged the competition, consisting of questions to the team leader, on the dress code, synchronization of music and marching.
The Odisha State Minister for Revenue and Education declared the winners of the competition. The School team leader Ms. Athukiri Debbarma and others received the Champions Trophy, Certificate and a cash award of Rs. 10000 from the Minister. The school was led by Father Babu with four teachers and 25 girls. The team is selected to go to Delhi for the National level competition on January 21 and 22, 2024.
