Don Bosco Tech India at Global Skills Summit

The Don Bosco Tech India team (Fr.Noble, Fr. Adolf, Fr. Benny, Fr, Shibu, Br. Cyriac, Mr. Linto, Ms. Minu Thommen, Ms. Susana Maria Kraft and Mr. Anwer) represented the Don Bosco Training Institutes in India in the 2nd ``Global Skills Summit`` oragnised by FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) on 20th & 21st August 2009 in New Delhi. The summit focused on the Emerging Skills in India by 2020.
The Don Bosco Tech India team (Fr.Noble, Fr. Adolf, Fr. Benny, Fr, Shibu, Br. Cyriac, Mr. Linto, Ms. Minu Thommen, Ms. Susana Maria Kraft and Mr. Anwer) represented the Don Bosco Training Institutes in India in the 2nd ``Global Skills Summit`` oragnised by FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) on 20th & 21st August 2009 in New Delhi. The summit focused on the Emerging Skills in India by 2020. The Eleventh Five Year Plan`s skill development mission and the subsequent National Skill Development Policy recognize the unprecedented challenges faced by India in providing skills and upgrading them to 500 million people in the next ten years. Keeping in view this challenge, the Global Skill Summit discussed elaborately on the possibilities of public-private partnership to transform India`s skill development landscape over the next decade. Don Bosco Tech India was invited to present the skill training initiatives taken at the industry level and the challenges faced in vocational training in the country. Fr. Noble George sdb presented before the delegates from different countries, the training strategies of Don Bosco Technical Institutes in Training and Empowerment. He in his presentation showcased the achievements, challenges and response of Don Bosco Tech in providing the youth of the country with the basic skills and enhancing these skills from time to time. ``We feel happy that Don Bosco Tech India is recognized as one of the leading training providers in the country. We hope that this good response and opening we have gained will increase the mileage and effectiveness of our skill training mission`` said Fr. Benny Alex while sharing his experience of the summit. At the close of the summit, the Don Bosco Teach India team had a short meeting with the officials from DGET, Govt.of India to discuss about the possibilities of MES registration and the effectiveness of it in Don Bosco`s Training mission. At the end of the meeting, Fr.Adolf Furtado SDB,the Chairman of Don Bosco Tech India, presented the MES registration proposal for all the Don Bosco institutes in Inida to Mr. Sharda Prasad, Director General, DGET,Govt.of India.
