Salesian Leaders Reflect on Accompanying Generation Z at Tiruchy Meet

The Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT) held its annual Leaders' Meet on July 3–4 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Kallukuzhy. The two-day gathering brought together rectors and community leaders for prayer, reflection, formation, and strategic planning to strengthen Salesian leadership and mission.

The meeting opened with sessions led by the Provincial on "Salesian Consecrated Vocation" and "Rector: Guardian of Salesian Identity." He invited participants to renew their commitment to their religious vocation and deepen their responsibility as animators of the Salesian communities entrusted to their care.

A formation session by Fr. Varan Vardhan of St. Paul's Seminary, Tiruchirappalli, focused on "Hidden Gen Z: Understanding and Accompanying Young Seminarians in Today's Context." He addressed the evolving realities of Generation Z, highlighting their aspirations, challenges, and distinctive characteristics. Participants reflected on approaches to accompanying young seminarians with empathy, authenticity, and a greater appreciation of the cultural and digital environments shaping their lives.

The Provincial Economer then conducted a session on Governance, Systems and Administration, stressing the importance of transparency, accountability, and effective institutional management in Salesian communities and institutions.

The meeting concluded with the Provincial outlining the Province's key concerns and priorities. He encouraged collaborative leadership, renewed missionary zeal, and faithful commitment to the Salesian charism in responding to the evolving needs of young people and the Church.
