The appointment follows consultations with the Provincials of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA). Br Jose will assume his new role at the SPCI House in Dwarka, New Delhi. In his appointment letter dated 17 March 2026, Fr Biju Michael, President of SPCSA and General Councillor for South Asia, expressed gratitude to Br Jose for accepting the responsibility and underscored DB Tech's mission to deliver technical education and skill development to poor and marginalised youth across the region.

 

At present, Br Jose serves as the Vice Principal of Salesian College, Sonada. Recognised as a dynamic educator and trainer, he brings extensive leadership experience in the Kolkata Province of the Salesians of Don Bosco. His academic credentials include advanced degrees in Social Anthropology, Psychology, and Education, as well as a PhD in Educational Leadership, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary foundation.

 

Br Jose began his ministry at the Don Bosco Self-Employment Research Institute in Howrah. He later played a key role in coordinating the first NAAC assessment at Salesian College, Sonada. Over the years, he has held leadership positions at Don Bosco institutions in Park Circus and Liluah. His tenure in Azimganj, Murshidabad, is particularly noted for transforming a rural high school into a modern educational institution marked by improved infrastructure and strong academic performance, achieved through the mobilisation of alumni networks and corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships.

 

His exposure to global educational practices includes study visits to Germany, Taiwan, and Singapore, as well as to premier institutions such as NASA, MIT, and Harvard University. Over the past decade, Br Jose has conducted more than 200 training programmes, mentoring educators, school leaders, and students across diverse contexts. “Education is about building communities of trust, creativity, and resilience,” Br Jose remarked, reflecting his pedagogical vision.
