South Asia ACSSA to Host Regional Seminar in Bangalore Ahead of Global 2027 Salesian Missions Conference
In preparation for the International Seminar marking the 150th anniversary of the first Missionary Expeditions of the Salesians (2025) and of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (2027), the South Asia branch of the Associazione Cultori Storia Salesiana (ACSSA – Association of Promoters of Salesian History) will host a regional seminar from 27 to 29 June 2025, at the Salesian Provincial House, Bangalore.
The international seminar, themed “Salesian Missions in the World,” will culminate in a global gathering in Brazil in 2027, with regional and continental seminars paving the way.
The South Asia seminar will bring together over 40 participants in person, with additional engagement through online participation via Google Meet. The event will feature nearly 20 research papers and communications on the “Evangelization Endeavours of the SDBs and FMAs” across South Asia.
The Salesian Provincial and the FMA Provincial of the Bangalore provinces will formally inaugurate the seminar. Also in attendance throughout the three-day event will be the FMA Provincials of the Chennai and Mumbai provinces, underlining the significance of the occasion.
This seminar provides a vital platform to explore, document, and reflect on the historical, cultural, and spiritual contributions of the Salesian missions in the region and to connect them with the broader global mission of the Salesian family.
