The 20th Don Bosco All Kerala Open Prize Money Table Tennis Tournament began in a splendid and colourful manner in the Silver Jubilee Indoor Stadium of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Irinjalakuda. In the lovely inaugural function, Rev Fr Varghese Thannippara, the Principal, & Chairman, Organizing Committee, delivered the welcome speech. Mr N Ganesan, Treasurer, KTTA, & Tech.Com.Member, TTFI, inaugurated the tournament in the meeting presided over by Rev Fr Devassy Kollamkudy sdb, Rector& Manager. In the tournament in which 250 players from all over the state will throw in their lot, the Master Jibu Varghese Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy will be presented to the winner of the Men`s section. An added attraction of the Tourney is the Inter-school team championship (in under 14,17&19 categories -boys&girls) which we had introduced for the first time ever, last year, and the response to it from all over the state of Kerala has been indeed overwhelming, so much so that many others too have taken cue from us and introduced the same in their state level tournaments too. This year, we have had 41 teams to register for the inter-school event. No state level ranking tournament in Kerala, even the one organized by the government has ever managed to attract so many participants as the Don Bosco Table Tennis Tournament. The Tournament which began on June 12th will come to a close on June 14th , Sunday at 7pm.
