SALESIAN FAMILY DAY CELEBRATED: DIMAPUR

Around 150 members of the Salesian Family gathered at the Provincial House, Dimapur, today for the celebration of the annual Salesian Family Day. The function began with a solemn Eucharist presided over by Fr James Poonthuruthil SDB, Provincial of Dimapur. It was followed by an animation session on the Strenna of the year as well as the Common Identity and the Common Mission of the Salesian Family by Fr Salew Peter, Provincial Delegate for Salesian Family.
After lunch there was a family gathering during which songs and dances were presented by various groups of the Salesian Family. It was a moment of sharing insights and experiences in true Salesian family spirit. Two books by Fr. Nazarius Lakra SDB, ``Catholic Signs and Symbols`` and ``Catholic Answers`` were released on the occasion. Present at the function were also Fr K. J. Louis, the National Delegate for Salesian Family, Mr. Rajesh Gupta, the National President of Don Bosco Alumni Association and several Salesians and members of the National Council of the Don Bosco Alumni Association representing various provinces of India who had come to Kohima for the National Council of the Alumni Association. The presence of Mr. Peter Hunter from England, who is a Salesian Past Pupil and member of the World Council of the DB Alumni added an International colour to the function. He shared with the audience some thrilling experiences of his 266-day trip around the world, covering 46 countries of the world including India.
