The campus of Don Bosco, Matunga, came alive with youthful energy and faith as 286 young people and Salesians from across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan gathered for SYMBIOS 2025, the annual celebration of the Salesian Youth Movement. Held on October 25 and 26, the two-day event radiated the theme “Young Pilgrims of Hope”, blending reflection, fellowship, and celebration in true Salesian spirit.

Months of preparation culminated in a vibrant opening evening filled with icebreakers and colourful camaraderie, as participants donned t-shirts emblazoned with saintly quotes. Fr. Leon Cruz, Provincial Youth Delegate, introduced the essence of the Salesian Youth Movement, setting the tone for the grand inauguration, officially declared open by Fr. Ashley Miranda, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Bombay.

The cultural night showcased regional diversity through skits, songs, and dances, celebrating the unity of the Salesian family. As dusk settled, the participants joined a solemn rosary procession with t-lights and banners of Mary Help of Christians and Don Bosco, prayed in multiple languages, and concluded with Adoration and Reconciliation. A “Tent of Hope” provided a space for confession and counselling throughout the event. Fr. Mylin Noronha’s Goodnight talk highlighted Don Bosco’s ability to transform weakness into strength for God’s mission.

The second day began with serene nature meditation, followed by two rounds of interactive workshops led by expert facilitators on themes like Praying with ArtFaith Tested by FireModern Lifestyle & Nutrition, and Entrepreneurship. A lively cultural exchange saw youth sharing sweets, souvenirs, and stories from their home regions.

As the program drew to a close, the campus resounded with games, music, and laughter before the concluding Eucharist at the Shrine of Don Bosco’s Madonna. In his homily, Fr. Miranda urged the youth to “walk as pilgrims of hope,” reminding them that God deeply loves them. The event ended on a note of gratitude and renewal, sending the young participants forth to live their faith with joy, hope, and purpose.
