Monsoon Madness Brings Youth Together at Don Bosco Kawant
The youth of the Gujarat Region (Guram: Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh) came together for a spirited celebration at Don Bosco Kawant on August 17, enjoying a day filled with prayer, games, and fellowship. Organized by the youth along with the youth delegate of Don Bosco Alirajpur, the event drew 77 participants from Dakor, Narukot, Chhota Udepur, Makarpura, Alirajpur, and Kawant.
The gathering began with the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Agnel Dias. In his homily, Fr. Shawn encouraged the young participants to “keep the fire burning within,” reminding them to be courageous and ready to face life’s challenges. Don Bosco Kawant Rector, Fr. Mayank, warmly welcomed the youth, urging them to be cheerful not only during the day’s activities but also in their life journeys.
The program was structured into three sets of games, with the youth divided into six teams. The first set featured puzzle games such as maze-solving and “Stamping the Mine,” which sparked keen participation. The second set moved outdoors with French Cricket, Dodging the Ball, and Dog & the Bone. To add more rhythm and excitement, Br. Ralston Rozario led a lively dance session, while Fr. Shawn and his youth group energized everyone further with Zumba.
After lunch, the Baroda Youth entertained the gathering with a karaoke session, showcasing hidden talents. The final round of games, Tug of War, tested the physical strength and teamwork of each group, bringing the event to a thrilling close.
Fr. Xavier, in his concluding remarks, expressed gratitude to the Don Bosco Kawant community, support staff, boarding boys, youth delegates, and all participants for their cooperation and enthusiasm.
The day ended on a high note with a playful spray of water from a hosepipe, drenching the youth in laughter and joy — a fitting farewell to a memorable day of monsoon madness, unity, and youthful spirit.
