Salesian Co-operators Formation Program Strengthens Mission Commitment
The Salesian Co-operators of the Panjim-Konkan Province came together on February 3 at Don Bosco Benaulim for a day-long formation programme aimed at deepening their understanding of the Salesian mission and strengthening their apostolic commitment. Thirty members, including office bearers from the province’s eight Co-operators’ units, participated in the event, which Mr. Franklin Coutinho, a seasoned resource person from the Mumbai Province, facilitated.
The programme opened with a prayer led by Sister Hilda, FMA, followed by a welcome address from Mrs. Claris, Coordinator of the Caranzalem Unit.
Mr. Coutinho’s session focused on the Project of Apostolic Life (PAL), offering a detailed explanation of the Association’s rules and statutes. His thought-provoking input challenged participants to reflect critically on their practices, while inspiring them with success stories from the Mumbai Province and his testimony.
In the afternoon, participants broke into smaller groups to plan their annual activities and discuss key takeaways from the session. INP Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Family, Father Anisio Mota, later guided a plenary discussion, sharing his reflections and words of encouragement.
A highlight of the day was the Holy Eucharist celebrated by INP Provincial, Father Clive Telles, whose presence and support were warmly appreciated. During discussions, participants expressed a strong desire for a spiritual retreat, a request Father Mota assured would be acted upon soon.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Provincial Coordinator Maria, who expressed gratitude to Mr. Coutinho for his enriching input and to the Don Bosco Benaulim community for their warm hospitality. Plans were also made to hold another formation programme in November for the remaining members of the province.
