Salesian South Asia Economers Meet in Sri Lanka

The Salesian Economers of the South Asia region met together at Don Bosco Provincial House, Sri Lanka, on November 6 and 7. Br Jean Paul Muller, the Economer General of the congregation and Fr Biju Michael, the Regional Councillor of South Asia, were present with eleven Economers of the region. 

A traditional dance with garlands and shawls welcomed the participants from various provinces. At the inauguration, Br Jean Paul, Father Biju and Father Santhanaraj, the Bosconet Director, hoisted the Sri Lankan, Don Bosco and Papal flags. Father Roshan Miranda, the Provincial of the Vice-Province of Sri Lanka, extended an official welcome to the guests. Earlier, Father Biju celebrated the Holy Eucharist with the participants.

The Economer General Br Muller addressed the economers on social audit. Mr Martin, an auditor from New Delhi, India, updated on Income Tax and the Foreign Contribution Registration Act. Father Joy Nedumparambil, the Coordinator of Economers, South Asia and the economer of the Salesian Province of Bangalore, presented the minutes of the previous meeting.
