Don Bosco Tech - Dumka, this institution is located in Dumka, a Santali tribal district in Jharkhand. Originally managed by the diocesan priests, the Salesians took over operations in 2008. Our primary mission is to support the local youth, who often come from impoverished backgrounds, by providing them with vocational training and facilitating placements in various schools and professional sectors. Many of our former students are now gainfully employed and express great satisfaction with the training they received.
Beyond vocational instruction, we keep the institute open in the evenings to serve the community, welcoming young boys and girls for sports and recreational activities. Our work is held in high regard by the Bishop, as well as the local priests and religious leaders, who frequently refer youth to us for skill development. While the institution currently operates on diocesan property, there is immense potential for our mission to grow. Our greatest challenge, however, is the lack of our own land and infrastructure, which remains the primary obstacle to expanding our services.
