A ROBOTIC NEW EVE

Adam flew to all world’s renowned cities
But could find no suitable mate for himself
And as he fell asleep after late- night browsing
God granted his prayer for a new age partner.

The creator ran a total body scan of Adam
Marked and cropped all his brain neurons
He wired them into the memory and brain cells
Of a smart, highly advanced female robot.

At the first sight of her Adam exclaimed,
‘She is neurons of my very neurons
She is my tech savvy, smart, perfect better half
She aligns best with my digitally driven life.

The nuptials were solemnised in cyber space
Before witnessing stars and satellite networks
All popular social media apps beamed it live
Over TV channels and world cable networks.

The charming smile on her face never failed
Her unfailingly cheerful mood never faded
She dutifully welcomed him home with warm tea
As he dashed back after the day’s tasks spree.

But it was all a sham, a deft puppet show
An impeccable electronically staged charade
She lacked the spark of a divinely crafted soul
As an alien colonised Adam’s missing rib.
