Dear Confreres, In the last circular we were familiarized with the Association of the Cooperators. In this circular I would like to present four more members of the Salesian Family who belong to secular institutes. In February 1947 Pope Pius XII published the Apostolic Constitution Provida Mater in which the Church officially recognized secular institutes. Since then many public pious associations aspired to become secular institutes. Those men and women who belong to the secular institutes live their life of consecration in the world. In our Salesian Family, we have two secular institutes for women, one of pontifical right and the other of diocesan right and one public association which is waiting to be recognized as a secular institute for men and one public association which is waiting to be recognized as a secular institute for men and women. They take the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience and live this consecration in the Salesian spirit of Don Bosco in their family surroundings. We shall get to know these three groups a little more.
