News reported by: Arun Raj SDB
Salesian priests, school leaders, and teachers from various Salesian institutions gathered at Don Bosco School of Excellence, Egmore, on July 25 for a one-day seminar on the Don Bosco System of Education, reaffirming their commitment to educating and accompanying young people through Reason, Religion, and Loving Kindness.
Organised by Don Bosco Kalvi Solai, the seminar deepened participants' understanding of the Salesian educational tradition and highlighted the enduring relevance of St. John Bosco's vision in contemporary education.
The programme featured sessions on the life and educational philosophy of St. John Bosco, the Preventive System of Education, youth accompaniment in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and educational psychology in fostering the holistic development of children and young people.
Resource persons highlighted how Don Bosco's educational approach continues to address the challenges faced by educators in an increasingly complex social and technological environment. They stressed that schools must remain places where academic excellence is integrated with character formation, faith development, and pastoral care.
Interactive discussions and reflective sessions encouraged participants to renew their vocation as educators committed not only to imparting knowledge but also to nurturing values, responsibility, and hope among young people.
