Don Bosco School, Pinapaka, celebrated National Science Day with vibrant enthusiasm on February 28, highlighting the transformative role of science in fostering innovation and societal progress.

The programme, built around the theme “Science Inspires Innovation,” brought together students, teachers, and school leadership for a day of learning and discovery. The celebrations featured engaging talks, student-led experiments, and reflections on the enduring legacy of India’s Nobel laureate Sir C. V. Raman, whose contributions continue to shape modern science.

The event commenced with addresses by school dignitaries, who connected the theme to Raman’s groundbreaking work and its relevance in today’s rapidly evolving scientific landscape. Fr. Y. Pradeep Reddy, Principal and Correspondent, highlighted Raman’s Nobel Prize in Physics awarded in 1930 and encouraged students to cultivate scientific curiosity and apply inquiry-based thinking to address contemporary challenges.

Adding depth to the occasion, Fr. Sundar, the Dean, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on Raman’s life and his discovery of the Raman Effect, explaining how the phenomenon has had a lasting impact on physics and chemistry. His talk emphasised perseverance, observation, and originality as hallmarks of scientific excellence.

Students played a central role in the celebrations, presenting innovative experiments and demonstrations prepared under the guidance of science teacher Amala. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the importance of mentorship and hands-on learning in nurturing young scientific minds.

The National Science Day observance at Don Bosco School served as a reminder of India’s rich scientific heritage and the vital role education plays in shaping future innovators. As students explored new ideas and experiments, they embodied the inquisitive spirit of C. V. Raman, reaffirming that science remains a powerful driver of innovation and progress for generations to come.
