Salesian family celebrates Don Bosco’s feast
The feast of Don Bosco was celebrated by the Salesian family members of Shillong, Northeast India, at Don Bosco Technical School on January 31, 2023.
On the occasion of the feast, Father Devasia explained the strenna ‘As a yeast in Today’ Human Family.’ Father Provincial, accompanied by the four new priests, presided over the Holy Eucharist. In his sermon, Father Provincial stressed the importance of accompaniment, the sacramental presence of the Salesians with the young. “We need to accompany the young always in their journey just like Don Bosco did,” said the Provincial.
The celebration of Don Bosco’s feast also marked the conclusion of the centenary celebration of the arrival of the Salesians to Northeast India. After the Holy Mass, the centenary flag was lowered by Father Richard Majaw, the Vicar General of Shillong Archdiocese, with representatives from various Salesian families present.
