A new unit of the Association of Devotees of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) was inaugurated on August 15, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Panjim, with nine members making their promises during the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Eucharist was presided over by Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Panjim-Konkan Father Banzelao Teixeira, in the presence of Ms Enid Varela, ADMA provincial coordinator, Father Loddy Pires, local animator of ADMA other Salesian priests and more than 400 faithful.

In his homily, Father Teixeira invited the faithful and the new ADMA members in particular, to follow the example of Mary in three ways: to say “Yes” to God, trusting that God can do great things in and through them; to turn their devotion into service, expressed through availability to others and solidarity with the most needy; and to entrust themselves to Mary’s maternal accompaniment, inviting her to accompany them, protect their families and strengthen them in moments of difficulty.

The nine new members had undergone two years of preparation before making their promises. During the promise ceremony, their commitments were received by Ms Enid Varela. Each new member was presented a copy of the ADMA Regulations, the ADMA badge and a certificate.

The establishment of this new unit forms part of the renewed effort of the Salesian Province of Panjim-Konkan to strengthen and expand the Salesian Family across the three regions of the province. The ADMA units in Odxel, Parra and Benaulim also celebrated the renewal of promises.
